It all started in 2022, just as the world was rubbing its eyes and stepping out of the long fog of COVID-19 lockdowns. In the quiet green heart of Kurundugaha Hathakma (AKA Cinnamon Tree-Mile), a small, family-run cinnamon plantation—one of thousands in Sri Lanka—was about to spark something big.
Tucked between sun-drenched rows of cinnamon trees, our founders were working on something special: a unique method of extracting pure Ceylon cinnamon oil. Cleaner. Smoother. Potent without being overpowering. The kind of extract that didn’t just smell like cinnamon—it was cinnamon, in its purest, most powerful form.
And then came the lightbulb moment.
What if we could bottle that magic—not in oil form, but in a drink?

Thus began the Cinna Buzz journey. And oh boy, it wasn’t easy.
Innovation in the Middle of a Meltdown
As we began our R&D journey, Sri Lanka was in the middle of an unprecedented economic crisis and socio-political upheaval. Fuel lines stretched for miles. Power cuts were the norm. Inflation was through the roof. If ever there was a time not to launch a new product, this was it.
But cinnamon runs in our blood. And more importantly, we knew we weren’t just creating another beverage—we were creating a way to add real value to Sri Lanka’s most iconic export. To move beyond the bulk spice trade and give cinnamon the global spotlight it truly deserved.
So, we stuck with it.
Three long years. Countless test batches. Exploding bottles. Fizz that fizzled. Oils that separated. Sleepless nights and stubborn hopes.
October 2024: The First Official Buzz
And then it happened.
In October 2024, after three years of trial, error, caffeine, and cinnamon-induced optimism, the very first sip of Cinna Buzz as we know it today was born. Clean. Crisp. Lightly sweet. With the subtle burn of real cinnamon and the unmistakable zing of something new.
We passed it around—family, friends, foodies and fans. The reaction was universal:
